About Bob Nieman

I moved to the San Juan Islands more than twenty years ago after spending over thirty years in business, conducting meetings, driving in traffic, running to airports to catch the next plane, talking to employees and trying to motivate others. My wife and I decided that we needed to slow down relax and enjoy ourselves more.

So here we are. Have we accomplished our goal of slowing down? By all means. That is the real great thing about the islands. Although we are as busy as two people can be, we enjoy ourselves more and we especially enjoy our friends and neighbors.

I have enjoyed owning and operating a number of businesses in the islands and applying my business skills in resurrecting and rebuilding these businesses.

Living in the San Juan Islands gives one the opportunity to get much closer to nature and our environment. I enjoy the out of doors, the wildlife, boating, fishing, golf and all the rest that goes with this very beautiful place.

I also enjoy the closeness of our small community and have been involved not only in the business area, but have also had the opportunity to be involved in local politics, service organizations, church activities as well. In most of these organizations, I have enjoyed a leadership role.
